OUR STORY

Hidden Eyes is an independent documentary filmmaking organisation focused on stories, systems and realities that often remain outside public view.

Much of what shapes our world happens in places most of us will never enter and through systems we rarely see firsthand. Hidden Eyes was created to go there, document what is happening and bring those realities into view.

The name comes from this idea. Hidden is what exists beyond ordinary sight. Eyes is the act of witnessing.

Our work spans documentary film and photography, exploring environmental, social and ethical issues in Australia and internationally.

We believe in showing rather than telling. Our films are grounded in observation, access, evidence and lived experience, with an emphasis on allowing audiences to see an issue for themselves.

INSPIRE. EXPOSE. SEE TRUTH.

HENRY EVANS

Founder · Filmmaker · Cinematographer

Henry Evans is a documentary filmmaker, cinematographer and photographer based in South Australia.

Working across directing, cinematography and editing, his work focuses on environmental, social and ethical issues, with an interest in people, places and systems that are often difficult to access or rarely seen.

Henry has a background in screen production and photography, and has filmed projects across Australia and internationally. His approach is observational and visually driven, using the camera to bring audiences closer to subjects they may otherwise never encounter.

He founded Hidden Eyes as a home for independent documentary work built around that approach.
